I want to start out by saying that I just caught Robben at Wilbert's in Cleveland. The man is without a doubt incredible.

I hate to say this, but I was dissapointed that the show started at least an hour late. No explanations offered. I know Robben was there on time because I saw him walk in the door at least a half-hour before the scheduled start time.

I was with seven friends that night that I had told this would be a must see event. Robben's performance once the show started did not dissapoint.

I hope he sees this post, and knows that while people understand there might be circumstances out of his control, there is an obligation on the part of the artist to be courteous to the paying audience.

I have to give the benefit of the doubt that there was some terrible mix up and not just apathy involved in the very late start.

I'm sorry for making my "Intro" a downer

I've been to Robben's shows four times in the past year, - he is very professional and has always started right on time when I've seen him. I would assume there was a good reason for the late start - glad the music did not disappoint. Welcome to the board from another newbie.

Welcome to the show, Bluzboyy.

I understand and appreciate your concern.
Robben is very conscious of show times and we always try to go on within 5-10 minutes of the time WE ARE CONTRACTED FOR.

There ARE occassions when that time changes and it is ALWAYS because of the local promoter and/or venue who wants us to go on 15 -30 minutes after the scheduled time because of delays getting the audience into the venue. We do NOT like to do this out of respect for the patrons who arrived on time, but we sometimes have little or no choice.

We always try to get on stage on time or within 5-10 minutes of the scheduled showtime if there are unavoidable delays of some nature.

As for the Wilbert's show, the only delay we had was getting the band from the back of the building thru the crowd to the stage. Otherwise we were almost exactly on our contracted showtime of 9:30. If the show was advertised as an 8:30 show, then you are probably not taking into account the opening act which went onstage at that time.

My deepest apologies, to Robben, Daved and the entire band. I am very sorry for the mix up. The owner of Wilbert's in Cleveland did speak with myself and my party and said to us that there would be an opener and then Robben would go on at 8:30pm. He must have made a mistake, and thus my concerns. It is probable that he did make a mistake in retrospect, because he is under tremendous pressure as of late. High overhead coupled with some lean business.

So, if you live in the Cleveland area please check out Wilbert's on Bolivar right next to Jacobs Field. They are getting in great acts all the time, the food is great, and the service friendly. Support your local music scene, and keep guys like Robben coming back.

Thank You Daved for your courtesy, and I can't wait for Robben to be in town again!!
