Some excellent choices from one and all! I'll throw my hat into the ring...

Duane Allman's solo, after the drum/bass solo in Mountain Jam (on Eat a Peach and The Fillmore Concerts). He starts out in harmony with Dickey Betts, and then puts on the slide for a solo that has sent chills up my spine for well over 20 years. Then it's back to straight guitar and an amazing flurry of octave playing. He just floors me - there are no words...

RIP SkyDog

<<<<Edge Of Darkness - Eric Clapton : from the 24 Nights CD (not the DVD version which is awful). Was great in the original soundtrack / TV series (and helps if you know the subject matter) but this version is shivers down the spine stuff.>>>>

Sorry to keep hogging the place but I remembered something else. A few days back I put on my favourite soundtrack and not before long, I was sobbing. I don't mean a few stray tears but real crying. The soundtrack is by Eric Clapton and it's for the film Rush. The first 6 instrumental passages are unbelievably beautiful, full of emotion and depth. IMO this rates with the best of what EC has done to date.
