Can anybody enlighten me as to what kind of acoustics Robben uses? _________________ If I ever make the music in my head become realized on my guitar, I will be amazing. |

On the Authorized Bootleg and when he was touring for Supernatural he was using one of those Fender Strat like things with a bolt on neck that are one a couple inches thick. Don't know what he uses to record with. Probably some sick vintage Martin or something. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

I remember an interview in a Dutch magazine when Supernatural came out. He told he used a Guild for this album. The nylon string guitar he used was a hand-build beginners guitar he got from Ann for his birthday!
So, no exp. Martin there!
I would be nice if Daved gave us some clues in this matter!

As far as I remenber he used a Carvin ac275 or ac 175 for the authorized bootleg record. I even think Robben told me that after a show here in Denmark.

Thought it looked like a Carvin also from some of the pics. |

It was a Carvin on the Authorized Bootleg. I believe I heard him say it was really neck heavy. I've also seen him use a nylon with Anne, but I don't remember what it was.

Definitely a Carvin on the Authorized Bootleg, recorded some years ago up at Yoshi's in Oakland. Carvin sells the album as a promo on their web site. (They also sell an interested album by Ventures founder Nokie Edwards, playing Carvin solid-bodies.) Hear Robben play a classical guitar backing up Anne at a concert at LA's John Anson Ford Amphitheatre two summers ago. Wonder if it was the "birthday" guitar? _________________ - BlueRunner |
