Three-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist Larry Carlton makes his Yoshi's debut to perform material from his latest CD, Sapphire Blues. Included on Hollywood's Rockwalk of Fame, Carlton's music endures on more than one hundred gold albums by artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand, and fellow guitar legend Chet Atkins. Carlton is now one of the most recorded pop and jazz guitarists in history. He has worked on more than 3,000 studio sessions, released more than 20 solo albums and has anchored some of the most famous and critically acclaimed albums of the rock generation including several by Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell. Carlton was one of the original members of The Crusaders and currently is a member of the group Fourplay. He also released several acclaimed albums on GRP Records. An originator of the smooth jazz sound, Carlton changes direction and comes to Yoshi's with his blues-based group, The Sapphire Blues Band for these special performances.

I second the Captain's sentiment. You guys are very lucky! I was listening to Sapphire Blue again last night. What a great CD! I've been trying to find a copy of Last Night, but apparently it's no longer available. My music shop guy is hunting for one.

Lobster, I am so happy to hear that! I hate doing the dishes. I'd much rather cook. Besides, I have a gig tonight and it's tough playing with dishpan hands!
