That guitar is legit. It is (or was) Matte Henderson's guitar. I believe Gene used to do that headstock style just for Matte. He was a Baker endorser. It's certainly one of a kind. |

I think that is Matte Henderson selling it. Maybe he can hook you up with his connection! haha |
That's my guitar. It's totally legit AND it's the last guitar to leave Gene's shop. Find another one, Dave. It's basically a Lesterized Robben(Mahogany back and neck/Maple cap). Bo told me that the last stock RF left Wild West for 5.5Gs. This guitar has all the paperwork and if it had a low A, I wouldn't be turning it out. The trem is killing on it(#4th out of the open G string) and the guitar is super clean. Email me @
mhenderson@hvc.rr.com, if anyone needs details. |

A Robben Ford Model is of absolutely no interest to me based on the lack of a trem and the Spruce top and alder back. We were both Baker endorsees and that where the similarities and inclinations end. I prefer the neck joint on the RF to the B1. This is a totally one off guitar, the last to leave Gene's shop and the last Baker Guitar built. Yes, I'm fully aware of Gene's plans so I know there will be more guitars built by one of my absolute favourite luthiers and peeps. |

Okay, I'm confused, what is meant by "if it had a low A"? A seven string with an octave to the 5th string? Is there some response problem on the A string or notes around there? If so, that would make a premimum price hard to swallow except for a non-playing collector. And what is meant by "#4th out of the open G string"? The trem will pull the G string up four frets? (no snickers please) or pull it up a whole fourth? Maybe someone should tell Eddie. There are enough unplayable old Gibsons out there with astronomical prices. Ever try to play a '52LP? Absolutely usless guitar, except to hang on a wall somewhere. Someone, stop the madness! _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

"... and if it had a low A, I wouldn't be turning it out. The trem is killing on it(#4th out of the open G string)..."
Er ... am I missing something? Both the Kirk's axe and the E-Bay guitar are gorgeous instruments, and even at $6K the latter is probably still good value. But neither has a tremolo arm as far as I can see, and I'm not sure what happens when you hammer on a C-sharp on the open G.
Translation please. _________________ - BlueRunner |

It's just not screwed in...but that's the trem bridge for sure in the photo above!
I think the #4th refers to the fact that you can raise the pitch a tri-tone with the trem...which is pretty cool.....$7K for sure....!! _________________ www.hendersounds.com

Very few Robben Ford guitars were built. There was one RF with a Mahogany back and neck, a Maple top and a trem. It also happened to be the last guitar shipped from Gene's old shop. It has the custom order sheet, all the paperwork, it sounds incredible and it plays itself. I don't know which part of the term one-off evades your intellectual grasp and at the end of the day, I simply don't care. You have made it abundantly clear that my guitar is not worth 6Gs to you, even though 5.5Gs seems to be the selling(not asking) price for RFs, according to several dealers who specialize in Gene's guitars. You don't wanna drop that kinda loot? Got it. |
