Hi to all: I recently heard that Alexander has passed away. Does anyone know if this true?

I spoke with Alexander for an hour on the phone the night before I left the states, about 2 nights ago. He was alive, well, and jealous of my new Rickenbacker 360/12... says he's been kicking himself in the rear ever since he sold his a few years ago.

Don't know where that rumor of yours came from but, other than dealing with his turn at the flu going around,he seems to be just fine and wants me to stop in for a visit when I get home.

HI DAVED; Oh it's not my rumor, believe me. It was someone,or other people that told me. I am glad that it is not true. I've been in this situation before where people argue for the sake of arguing, know what I mean? It is also facinating to believe how people will act after having a few too many. I'm not going say I've never been there. But I was reminded of a movie I once saw where the character quotes the level of drunkiness and a certain level he says " Drinking destroys your dumb sells, so everything you say sounds real smart" I beleive it was The Legend of Baggar Vance. Thanks for setting me straight, and I will in the most friendliest of ways let "them" know they were wrong. Thank God. God bless

And I'm sorry to have implied you were the originator of the rumor. Certainly didn't mean it. Actually meant "Your" as you being the presenter of the rumor to me. Truth be told, I appreciate your passing it on to me, so I COULD set the record straight.

And for the record... just before I came to this board this morning, I responded to an E-mail from Alexander that he sent me just a few hours ago wishing Robben and I a good tour. So he is just fine.

No problem Daved I didn't think you were anything like that. I can tell when people are genuine with the way they act. One, looking after this forum is quite a job. That says something about you. Keep up the good work and my best to you and Robben on tour. Let me know when you get around me and I'll head out. I'm in the DC/Maryland/Delaware area. Thanks for the response Daved. I don't know him, but I have an unending amount of respect for his designs and they have inspired me to build myself. Glad to hear he is well.

Well, no response, so all I can say is that the guy who emailed me 2 or 3 times regarding an eBay speaker auction I had was a wacko. Among other things, he called me psychotic. Claimed to be close friends with Daved, and the sole provider of speakers to Robben. Also claimed that Robben is using and always has used Celestion 65's, when in fact Kirk and I both heard from Daved in Santa Cruz that they were not using 65's at that time.

Must have been an imposter with nothing else productive to do. That's good news, because had it really been Alexander, then he'd have qualified as a certifiable fruit loop.

Sorry, Mike. I can't always get to every question right away, especially if I don't have a specific answer or pertinent information immediately on hand. I'll try to make it a point to respond to you quicker in the future.

As for whether your comunique was actually with the real Alexander, I don't know. It may well have been.... he doesn't report all of his personel activities and communications to me, so I don't know. I don't monitor his life and activities.

If it was, than deeming him "a wacko" or "a certifiable fruit loop" does not make you look any more favorable in my eyes. Apparently whatever you said to him has made him feel the same way about you. That is a personal rift between you two that really has little to do with me, or the public in general. He IS my friend, has always been cordual and respectful with me and has never given me any reason to consider him anything other than an honorable, decent, and brilliant human being.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with him. I don't know what you said in your auction that set him off, but he IS very protective of Robben and the other artists he works with. I haven't seen either of yours or his communiques so I can't make any judgements.

For whatever his reasons may be, you two have had a private disagreement in which he may have called you psychotic to your 'face', but you are responding to him by telling the public that he is a "wacko". Seems a little harsh & unfair when whatever disagreements you may have are between the 2 of you.

If this was Alexander, he is indeed a close friend. And, he does indeed provide us with the majority of our speakers, or inspect, evaluate, and give a thumbs up/down on the ones we procure on our own. And, yes, Robben IS using, and mostly has used Celestion 65's, ocassionally going thru periods of trying out other makes and models (EVERY artist I have ever known and/or worked with does this... ocassionally wandering from their main preferences to experiment with other options). He does use other Celestions and Emminence once in awhile, or in other gear configurations, but tho he may have been using something else at the time you asked me, his primary preference is still Celestion 65's.

Again, sorry you have had a severe disagreement with him, but that is between you two.

Hi Daved: What a ride ah? I kinda wished I could go back in time so to speak. I believe this and other incidents sheds a bad light on this subject. He is who he is, lets let him be that way. I don't like to have a bunch of people I call new friends having bad vibes about Alexander. We all have a bad days and good days. We can learn that some of us have a Jeckyl and Mr Hide inside, they just chose "personal preference" moments to show themselves. I have mine. I'm a weener! I hope I did not appear to be condeming or sound like I was coming down heavily on you Mike. I did not mean to, if that was the impression I gave.

It's just that I do not know at this time if it was Alexander or, if it was, why he should be so upset at you when he has always been very pleasant, helpful, and a gentleman in all of Robben's and my dealings with him.

HI All: I have to say. Lets just take a step back and Breath. I think we're all thinking this is bad so I think I will just take step back look at this and not chose to add or take away from this. I do not think Daved implied anything, just my oppinion. I do not feel Mike implied anything,also my oppinion. I think Daved is being honest and not just saying the same old BS we get from those in charge. I STILL LOVE YOU MAN!!!. Game on!! To the next thread I say, to the thread man.

Daved, thanks for the response. You have always been a huge asset for us Robben fans, and your accessibility, like Robbens, is refreshing and highly valued by me and fans world wide. So the last thing I want to do is pee in the pool! I took no insult at your comments to me.

Based on my reporting, you characterized the "disagreement" as "severe", and that's what's really wierd, because the guy who emailed me made it sound "severe". I just found it interesting, that's all. Whoever emailed me is no threat to me, so it's no big deal, it was just a coincidence when this thread was started the same week as my "close encounter".

I figured after 8 or 9 days and after several posts elsewhere, you might zap me an email. I concluded that the person who harrassed me was not him, or you would have known of the incident, because "he" told me that he had asked you to "elighten" me. And so my characterizations here about the person who harrassed me were the characterizations of an anonymous person. And I'm content to let it remain that way.

I'm sure the real Alexander is a great guy, and I'd surely step up for my friends too. You can be friends with Marvin the Martian for all I care, so long as you guys keep producing such GREAT TONE!

I hope we can let this thread rest, and I apologize for any dirt I may have inadvertantly thrown. And thanks again for your accessibility and insight into the behind-the-scenes world of supporting a great artist.
