"Wow, is this forum ever dead!"
Okay, this is a quote from the general topics, and we really do need to liven up here. And what better way than a few live concert reports from Australia! Are you Aussies out there? Where are you, and when are you going to see Robben? Tell us about your smiles, Robben's music, the players, the fashion report, the venue, the weather ... [thanks]. |

Unfortunately, I have to wait until Wednesday night (5 more sleeps to go!) until Robben plays in Melbourne. Would love to be in Byron Bay over Easter (where Robben, Daved and company are now) but my own lesser gig schedule will keep me here for the next few days. Eagerly awaiting some reviews of those gigs though!
Rest assured I'll post a review after Wednesday night. Will keep an eye on the shirts, the shoes (if I can get close enough) and the guitars etc.
The weather, by the way, is beautiful today - sensational Melbourne autumn/fall day. Set to turn to crap by Wednesday though (sorry Robben and Daved!).

Players on the West Coast tour in Jan/Feb were DeWayne Pate, bass - Hilary Jones, drums - and Bob Malach, saxophone. They were fabulous.
Don't know if the lineup is the same for this tour - anyone here know?
Looking forward to those reviews.
Weather here is a beautiful warm spring day, I've got the day off, just got back from breakfast and coffee, and Robben Ford on the CD player (Supernatural). It's another fine day. |

Robben and band are advertised as working the 'Basement' in Sydney on
the 11th and 12th following the 'Byron Bay' gigs. Suspect that since he's
doing 2 nights at that venue it may turn up on DVD sometime. The 'Basement' have an online catalog of local and O.S. artists which have
worked that venue. I won't be able to attend the the Bryron and Sydney
gigs due to other commitments but hope to see the Melbourne show on the 14th( have already blown a gig out on that night to free up time) but
at this stage is looking doughtfull. |
