Hi you gear heads,
any one familiar with the Gibson Blues Hawk axe???
Just recently heard it being played through a Fender Concert amp, and I was amazed by the many colours of tones it can deliver. It´s eqipped with 2 Blues 90´s pickup, I guess they are similar to the P 90´s.
The guitar has not a big size, but the output...wow!!
Does anyone know if this guitar is still build?
Greetings
Tom

Sorry, I don't. But I'll bet a dollar that Dave does.

Cool I've always been intrigued by this guitar (and have played one at a shop), but is this significant?: Billy Watts, a great touring and session guitarist out of L.A., is currently touring with Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps. He sets up both a Fender strat and a Blues Hawk (through an old silverface Vibrolux). I've been to two performances in the past two months. TJ and the RT's play three or more hours of music in a typical show. In one show Watts played the strat for every number on the set list, save for the very last song, when he picked up the Blues Hawk. In the other, the Blues Hawk spent the entire evening on the guitar stand (with it's back to the audience). Moral of the story: At least one pro player treats the Stratocaster as his main axe, and the Blues Hawk as something to have in reserve in case kidnappers steal the strat or a precision-guided weapon takes the strat out in mid-show.
