Tonight I asked Jimmy Haslip about something that has bothered me for awhile.
Somehow or the other we got onto the topic of the Italian lable Hendrix tribute album that came out last year, with Jimmy, Robben and Tom Brechtline covering a tune from the Band Of Gypsies.
I asked Jimmy why only one song appeared on the album though I know they recorded 2 hendrix tunes that day.
Jimmy told me, as I suspected, that it was because of needing the time to get a variety of artists on the disc.
I told him I was disappointed as I really liked their take on Bold As Love from the Experience's Axis album.
Jimmy told me he liked it a lot, too, and that when he spoke with people at the lable, they told him that they want to use it on a "Volume 2" they are hoping to put out in the near future. _________________ B C-ing U!

That's great news, Daved! Keep those Hendrix covers comming (from Robben I mean). There are still some more songs from Hendrix I would like to hear played by Robben. 'Bold As Love' was one of that songs! _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis
