Hey all, I'm new on the board, spent a day with Robben at his clinic in Ojai on Saturday (the 22nd), the experienced very much revitalized by waning enthusiasm for playing. I'm not a very skilled player but a good 80% of what Robben talked about had nothing to do with scales or technique - what I got was it was all about me finding something on that guitar that was mine, finding my voice, so the search continues!!! Anyhow, I've been listening to Robben since the early 80's and have seen him perform around So Cal for the last 20 years - each and every time I got a great guitar lesson!

RiffRaff,

I highly recommend the book Robben showed us on Saturday called Zen Guitar. You can get it on Amazon for less than $15. It will take you about two pages to see why Robben likes the book so much.

I live in Rancho Santa Margarita so if you're ever interested in getting together to play sometime, let me know.

Aeolian,

I was the guy with the Heritage 535 (at the other end of the row you were in) Very Happy

jconstant, funny that you mentioned the book, I picked a copy up yesterday afternoon, I'm in Portolla Hills (a mile or so away) and I think it would be great to get together and play, I have a buddy who plays drums and can dig up a bass player if you want to jam some? PM me if your interested.
