As I was staying over last year, there was no real need to dash away from the venue at the end of the gig (like EVERYONE else), the place cleared in five minutes flat. I walked up to the bar to order a drink and Dal Booth walked up beside me and said Hi. A minute later Robben walked up the other side and said Hi, we got a drink, sat down and chatted for about 20 minutes. Robben was asking ME about MY amps! It was really great.
I can't wait for the Manchester gig

Dal Booth, Robben's manager, emailed me back this morning. Here's his response:
"It is on the 20th,everyone(record companies) want info so early they don't notice the changes when they happen. We have added a date in Birmingham on the 19th.
Dal "
So there you go, the Manchester gig is on the 20th November. I might just try and catch the show on the 19th too.......it's only a two hour drive away........
And Hi David, thanks for the welcome, and yes, still diggin' the Fuchs
Cheers,

I just confirmed that I have a ticket for the Manchester gig on the 20th November.
Like RockinRob, I have travelled to London the past two years and I was having second thoughts about making the trip again (expense, holidays etc...). Now I don't have to!
The UK leg of this tour is great news. Six dates! I just hope that the UK fans come out in force to show Robben how appreciated he is. I will be spreading the news, five other friends going so far...
Anyone know what the Life Cafe is like as a venue? I have never been to a gig there. Looks similar to the Jazz Cafe from outside.. |

Hi all,
can anyone confirm Robben is playing at the Robin R&B club on the 18-11-03? I have called the box office, only to speak to a new employee who really did not know of any such detail, saying it may be something that is being negotiated.
This would be a great venue for me and my music friends to travel to (the jazz cafe in London is awkward if you wish to stay around after the show due to the public transport closing times, etc).
I would really appreciate any feedback.
All the best,

With reference to the tour date on 20th November 2003,Robben's web site states that it is the Robin R n' B club in Birmingham. I would just like to point out that the club they are refering too is in fact The Robin 2 in Bilston which is about 2 miles from Wolverhampton and about 10 miles north of Birmingham. As yet this date has not been confirmed. As soon as it has been confirmed i shall update this post.Looking forward to Manchester........see you there |

Nobody could inform me on what exactly is this show, is it divided in two parts or Robben is only a guest ? _________________ Play it like you feel it ! |

Frunk,
The Paris show will be Robben Ford AND Robert Cray... each with their own seperate bands & performances.
Robben is musical friends with Robert. We ocassionally do shows together and often cross paths on the road.
I am very long time friends with Robert's crew as Robert hails from the Portland, Oregon days during the years I lived and worked there. Robert's crew and I all "cut our chops" in the NorthWest together back in the early 80's. _________________ B C-ing U!
