Hello! I'm Mike from San Diego. I love Robben's music, phrasing and tone. What a monster, eh? He seems like a genuinely nice guy, too!

Cool Welcome aboard, Mike. I checked out your web site for the Sneaks'. Neat. We get down to San Diego a couple of times each year, sometimes planning trips around the monthly gig list in Southland Blues, so we'll definitely keep an eye (and an ear or four) out for you.

You're within easy weekend commuting distance to come up to Ojai for Robben's August 28 Clinic. Believe me, you won't be disappointed if you do.

Finally, a tip re another band: If you're free either June 11 or 12, the Shane Dwight Band will be at Patricks II both nights. (Check out www.shanedwight.com ) My daughter caught them a few months ago at The Blue Cafe in Long Beach, and after her review I went out of my way to catch them at Sly McFly's in Monterey two weeks ago while up there on a business trip. Dwight is a "reductionist" much the way Robben is. I.e., he keeps it simple, but gets a ton of blues out of what he does.

Looking forward to your postings.

Thanks,yáll. As it happens, if you've got three guys who've been playing just forever, somebody is bound to know some songs, eh? I admit to being a true sloth when it comes to learning stuff, so I'm just a little abashed when I read some of the postings in here. Some of you guys are amazing. I'm so so so so so so tempted to buy a Fuchs again....I know that the music comes from inside me, but the sound is what drives me.....the tone, the tone, masked man...It's a never-ending cycle....I've got Boogies, Dr. Z's, Marshalls, Ampegs, Carvins, Peaveys, Fenders and I just never seem to quit the search, even when I think my tone is godly....by the next week I'm off again!!!!!! It truly is a disease. Thanks for you comments and I'll try to make some of the gigs that were mentioned.
Mike.

BlueRunner, I saw an ad for Shane Dwight Band in a Blues Festival publication today. Looks like he will be playing at the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival in July. I'll be sure to have a listen. Thanks to everyone on the board for tips on great bands and players.
