It would be interesting to read a posting of all-time favorite concerts.
One of my favorite memories was seeing Led Zeppelin at The Grande Ballroom in Detroit, in Jan, 1969. The Grande was custom made for concerts, with it's huge wooden dancefloor, complete with Black Light Displays. When the Grande first opened, it was always a challenge to get down there for me, as my mom didn't allow it. ha ha. Where there's a will there's a way. But by '69 I was just old enough to go anyway.
Jimmy Page was so young.....and he was cookin'
Another concert I always remember was Steve Miller at Meadowbrook, which is an outdoor concert venue. He was on his "Children of the Future," tour. It was a warm night, the sky was full of stars, and the night was magic. When the music is great, and the ambience is just right.....space travel is possible.

I didn't have to think very long:
Miles Davis at the North Sea Jazz festival 1985. With Darrel Jones and John Scofield. This was my first time I saw Miles! Many more times followed afer that one!!!
Robben and the Blue Line at the North Sea Jazz festival in 1991. I was nailed to the ground!
And finally John Hiatt in some small venue in the south of Holland just after her released his masterpiece "Bring The Family". I think it was 1988. I was so surprised and impressed!!
I have seen many concerts but these three are the most memorable.

Nice idea Kohar, but you living in the country of rock and the city of detroit,
and me in France , we are not on the same level, anyway i have good souvenirs :
My first live concert ever (not even rock but beautiful) : Mahavishnu Orchestra performing the new material APOCALYPSE with all the classical musicians on stage.(72-73)
Weather Report with Alfonso Johnson, then the first tour with young Pastorius, and also the Birdland tour with jaco.(80)
The great Hermeto Pascoal, an awesome concert of Mac Coy tyner with
a brasilian percussionist.
My best Rock concert ever in france : Jeff Beck.(79)
I've seen a lot of Shakti too (75-76) , I've seen this in a jazz rock festival Pat Martino trio, Bette MABRY (WOWWWWWWW,Pure wild funk), Joe beck,
the band STUFF w/steve gadd, the eleventh house from L.Corryell, Tony williams jamming with al dimeola, Ray baretto and his brass , and brian auger (great moment). I was not there for automatic man and i 'm still worrying about....
A very special concert from steve Hillage (X GONG guitar player, now a producer, Todd Rundgreen produced one of his work) where the venue suddenly morphed in a giant magic flying saucer or time machine.....
go figure
A lot of miles from Scofield to the end . Miles with Robben in 1986.
But frankly where i enjoyed the most where in the U.S.
My first week in LA i went in the Baked Potatoe and this evening there was a birthday so they mainly played Cream, Hendrix , Blues & relaxed stuff,
Brandon Field, Joe Porcaro, Steve Lukather, David Garfield , Lenny Castro, Jimmy Johnson . I knew there was a heaven before death.
And the evening i went to palace in hollywood to see Johnny Winter, and top of the cake, the first act was Steve Morse Trio......................

So many great concerts, it's hard to pick out just a few. But I'm definitely partial to a "pair" of concerts:
Spent some time in college learning a bunch of James Taylor tunes and singing them for the ladies. Then in 1972 I took a date to hear Taylor at The Forum in Los Angeles (a fund-raiser for then Presidential candidate George McGovern).
My date for that concert and I married in 1973. Our two daughters, now 25 and 22, grew up listening to all kinds of music (including Robben Ford), and Taylor was among their favorites. We never saw him again in concert, however. That is, until this past October, when all four of us went to hear him at the Greek Theatre in L.A. Not only was his performance great, but every time I looked to my left to watch my daughters enjoying the music I had to pinch myself to believe it was real. Sitting in the dark listening to him again 31 years later, with two grown kids along. Wow. _________________ - BlueRunner

Focus, August 1973- my 1st concert, at NY's Central Park.
Focus, October 1973- my 2nd concert, just moved to Boston, just turned 18, at the Orpheum.
Yes, February 1974- Boston Garden, Tales from Topographic Oceans Tour. Wow!
Santana & Tower of Power, winter 1974- Boston's Music Hall. All I remember was being scared of falling off the balcony after the show was over. Seats were in the 4th row. Ate way too many brownies.
Allman Bros. & Eagles, summer 1975- Boston Garden, 2nd of back-to-back weekend shows to benefit American Indians. Eagles smoked, Allmans smokered.
Late 70's, 80's, early 90's- got married & had kids , cut way back on going to concerts, but when I did go, it was Allmans & Yes mostly.
Gregg Allman & Friends, October 2002- Hampton Ballroom Casino. Gregg at his best.
Dream Theater, April 2004- Orpheum, Boston. Powerful performance.
Yes, May 2004- Lowell, MA. 35th Anniversary tour. Didn't disappoint. Played my all-time favorite Yes piece- The Ritual.
Robben Ford, June 2004- Arlington (Boston), MA. I've had many great concert experiences, but this one, just for the pure pleasure of it, will probably rank at the top... _________________ Soul on Eleven
Can you believe I never heard Robben Ford until a year ago? Since then, I've been lucky to go to 3 of his concerts. The first and 2nd in Chicago, and then Detroit. The first time I saw him in Chicago, I had a smile on my face from the first note that lasted an entire week.
The saddest concert I've been to was Laura Nyro. I loved her piano, lyrics, and voice all my adult life, and when I finally saw her here in Detroit at the Majestic Theater, she died of cancer a short time later.
My memories are all entwined with whatever music I loved best at that period of time. There's always a song attached to every event. Like your James Taylor concert, Blue Runner.....
I've always been lucky to share my love of music with my sons. This summer I'll see James Butler Trio in Sydney with my son living in Australia. My other son has a disability, and we listen to music together everyday!
When my dad was alive, he was always playing Big Band music. A few summers before he passed away he gave me Linda Ronstadt's CD, where she does all the old Nelson Riddle songs. This Friday she's at the Music Hall with Aaron Neville, so I'm sure I'll be the sentimental Lady there, with a Tear in her Eye.
PAUL MCCARTNEY Moscow, Red Square - 2003 (Back in the USSR!!!)
The first and the only concert of Paul Maccartney in Russia - on the Red Square.
