I was listening to a Robben bootleg (OH MY GOD, DID I JUST SAY THAT WORD? ) and I was so impressed with the overall groove the band had and Robben's tremendous improvisational ability.
The quality of the recording was not one the best, but it was OK.
It really made me think that it was about time Robben released a proper (electric and well recorded) live CD with a collection of his best songs from 1988-2004 (including those which he is probably bored of playing by now ).
Help me out by signing this virtual petition!

What should we do this them??
Let me get back to a theme I keep trying to drill home. Robben is leaving revenue and earnings on the table. Online distribution of his live shows (audio and video) would generate a new income stream for him! |
Could it be that he could have trouble convincing a record label to invest in a CD like this? Maybe it's seen as an "old-fashioned" thing to do?
However, Robben is certainly not a MTV star but more of a "Live" and concert star (his gigs sell well - I guess).
I believe that a well-done, double live CD with all the great tracks since Talk to Your D. could be a historic piece of work - a kind of "Greatest Hits" but more exciting.

There is a "Live if SF" cd that has many of the Blue Line hits...BTW! |
I tried ordering it through Amazon acouple of years ago and they kept on indefinetely postponing the delivery date - basically they couldn't get a copy of it.

I Read on the inside cover of "The Authorized Bootleg" That he and The Blue Line recorded at Yoshi's a few years back that the reason He hadn't released a Live Album until then is because he "Hasn't been happy with any live recordings" I know one of my favorite parts of his Ohne Filter performance is when he plays 4 bars in the wrong key during "worried Life Blues" It makes him Human. I wonder if he realizes that we'll buy it Regardless of recording quality, botched notes, ect.......WE LOVE ROBBEN!!! I'll need at least 10 copies incase I scratch one, I don't want to go through the trouble I recently did trying to find a new copy of "Tiger Walk" _________________ Resident Gear Hound!

I'm signing up for CD/DVD live with Robben in half-unbuttoned shirt on the cover photo. _________________ La musica aiuta a non sentire dentro il silenzio che c'è fuori (Richard Bach) |
