Nothing like playing the blues in paradise!

This was my first gig with Blues Legend Frankie Lee and we had a great time up in Gramby Colorado with some great artists - Tab Benoit, Carolyn Wonderland and The Imperial Monkees, Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers! Great weekend!

Did you guys miss me? No Internet in the mountains, I was going crazy!!

Good stuff there, kirk. Looks like a great time.

While you were out there in familiar territory, I was making my musical debut at a backyard bbq party yesterday. The host, who's band played the local night club circuit for many years, always has friends, kids, relatives, and neighborhood kids "jamming" at his parties. Knowing that I've been (re)learning how to play, he insisted that I show up with my guitar (I've been politely refusing in the past). We started off with some easy 3 chord blues tunes during which the "spotlight" went on me for my turn to solo. It was scary, but I got through it ok, and each time it seemed a bit easier. In fact, a few times I seemed to get "lost" and pulled off some licks that even surprised me. After it was all done, I didn't know if what I was feeling was relief or elation. But, I did have me a wicked smile the rest of the day! Very Happy

Looks like a wonderful day. Bet you really enjoyed it. What is that weird thing that other guy is playing?
