Damn,

I was supposed to go to tomorrows concert in Erba close to where I live.

I was browsing on the web and through an Italian newsgroup I read that the concert was anticipated to TONIGHT!!!!! Confused

WHHAAATTTT!?!?!?!?!??

Also, the venue has been moved to Menaggio on the Como lake (beautifull place, but a bummer to get to). The concert begins in 1 1/2 hrs.....I can't make it.

Damn.....

Ahhaaaa......., I've just checked the tourdates and there is another place 1 1/2 hrs away (Chiari) in which Robben is playing this Saturday.

Marin

Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait 6 more days. Very Happy

Ma come hanno ANTICIPATO la data?!?!?
Ma non si puo', non si puo' fare cosi'!!

Beh, almeno c'e' Brescia. Il giorno successivo
e' Spilimbergo, abbastanza vicino a Trieste, casa mia!

Spero che non la cancellino. Ora sono preoccupata...

Ciao,
Suzie

Il concerto di Erba faceva parte di un festival locale:

http://www.larioestate.it/jazz/jazz_luglio.htm

Ah, spero proprio di no! Faremo una preghierina. Anche per Brescia, dai.

ps Ciao Suzie! A vederci prestissimo!

Yes, there have been some date changes.

As you can imagine this is keeping us on our toes.

Because of weather the Rivoli show has been postponed till next week.

Because of schedule shuffling we had a WONDERFUL 4 days off in Menaggio! The town has been great to us, feeding us excellent foods, fine liquers, and keeping us entertained with trips to Bellagio, Varenza, Como, etc. Robben Dewayne and I went to see Solomon Burke the other night. Robben came away greatly inspired.

Robben & the band returned the favors by sitting in at a local Menaggio pub last night, playing a few tunes and jamming with whatever locals wanted to hop up 'onstage'... something Robben very rarely does. He, and the band, had a blast!

Now, however, it is back to 'work'... having just checked into our hotel heare in Ravenna in preperation for tomorrow night's show.

Great stuff!

It quite hot (34?C) these days so hanging around Lake Como must have been a treat!

Daved, I read that the Dumble had some transformer problems at the Menaggio concert but you sorted them out?;)

Enjoy your stay in Italy and I hope to see you in Chiari on Saturday.Smile

( Just in case you don't mistake me for some freak trying to climb on stage - I am tall, skinny, grumpy, speak reasonable english and wear square glasses! Cool )

During our trip from the Canary Islands to Italy, we missed our flight in Madrid and had to frantically make other travel arrangements. This got us into Mennagio about 45 minutes before showtime (during the opening acts performance), which didn't leave much time for dealing with problems... and no time for any sort of sound check.

The 110v transformer that was to be supplied had broken, but the promoter managed to find a small 2 amp transformer. I was afraid we might burn it up. It managed to get us thru the show, but I kept a constant eye on it. (Robben's Dumble has a selectable voltage transformer built in, but because the airlines lost my workbox, I had no proper fuses to substitute for the voltage changes so I preferred not to go that route... and no variac to regulate what voltage we did have).

Last night at dinner we were told by the promoter that the show being rescheduled due to venue damage from bad weather (Rivoli?) has now been completely canceled.

I don't know about a "Chiari" show, but then, the names of the cities in my itinery do not always match up to where we actually perform (for example: the Como show was actually in Menaggio).

My current info is that tomorrow, the 24th, we will be at the Instutito S. Bernardino in Brescia, Italy.

That's right. Chiari is in the province of Brescia. It's a small town just outside Brescia town.

http://mappe.virgilio.it/tc/mappa.jsp?cx=9.92887&cy=45.53623&lx=9.92887&ly=45.53623&lv=1&al=117691&rtg=C&com1=chiari+(bs)&to1=&civ1=&type=1&z=30.0&ct=&st=&cs=&nm=

It's not far away from a place called Manerbio where Robben played a couple of years ago in the garden of town hall (very elegant surroundings).

Great. I'll be there.

thanks
