Okay Bunnylover (doesn't everyone love bunnies?) Next weekend, September 27-28...San Francisco Blues Festival. Be there! (Robben will.) (With Al Kooper and a mind boggling "Tribute to Michael Bloomfield" band that seems to get exponentially better every time I see them!!! Oh yeah! Start it up!

Elizabeth,
iamsoexcitedforyou! and i'm green with envy too... while i'm collecting coconuts and extinguishing fire ants, you will be enjoying my most favorite band in the world, at one of the best bluesfests anywhere.
Seriously, please tell us all about it on Monday !
I know they'll be playing the Bloomfield Tribute stuff... but you also might be able to snag their new cd "Another Fine Day" as well as Chris Cain's new one, "Hall of Shame". I got mine yesterday and they are causing the thermostat on my cd player to exceed safety limits... both cds are HOT !!!!
Have fun ! |

No problem...go to all of them. You can beat my personal best: 7 nights in a row last December. I am still going through withdrawal, although yesterday helped quite a bit. Robben es sehr guht, javol!
Seriously, going to concerts several nights in a row gives you a whole different perspective, particularly if they perform the same (or almost the same) set. Your ability to listen to the qualities of solos and the nuances between the musicians is heightened, in my experience. Oh, who the hell am I kidding...I just love to hear the man play! Every time I feel the wince of this sunburn, I realize that it was sooooooooooo worth it.
I'll try to send the rest of my photos tonight.

Roadwarrior, I tried to call you on my cell phone during the KILLER "East West" solos, but I didn't have your number with me...so I called my OWN house and left some of it on my answering machine. My god, I do believe I am obsessed!
Some people have mid-life crises, some get plastic surgery, and some get trophy wives/husbands. I am simply taking my blues devotion to a higher level. One might think I am losing my mind, but I never had it, anyway! _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

I once did 9 shows...but not in a row...and not Robben. I saw John Farnham (Australian singer) 5 nights in Melbourne and 4 nights in Sydney.
I don't think I'll ever top that one. Travelling fron the U.S. (where I'm originally from) to Australia just to see "The Voice" before he retires...THAT was crazy but would do it again in a heartbeat. |
