Hi.
I had a great trip to Australia this summer, and saw the John Butler Trio at the Elmore Theater. It was a great crowd, and reminded me so much of the State theater in Detroit. I heard good things about that Byron Bay Blues Festival held there in April???
The band seemed really tight, and I enjoyed the Australian sounds.
Also the drummer blew me away, (not a musician, but I LIKED him so much.....usually it's the guitar that gets me, but this time it was the drummer)
There was a bit of political solicitation before the concert, guess that's the same all over. Anyone from Michigan who's interested, Jeff Lang, guitarist from Australia will be in Petoskey and Kalamazoo next month....
Now if I could just get them to throw a couple grandbabies in with the equipment..........I miss them already.

G'day (I just love that accent !)
There are some very good Blues players from Down Under
A few months ago I saw Geoff Achison and Anne McCue on tour. I had never heard of either of them before. They each performed without a band and there was NO fanfare about either show. But I really enjoyed their Blues.
Anne McCue's story is an inspiration to anyone who has ever played to an EMPTY room. Her story, as told on the back of her live cd... Anne made her Nashville debut in a bar called The Basement. She played a solo show to a crowd of 10 people. One of them was Lucinda Williams. After the show, Lucinda asked Anne to go on tour as her opening act. Anne played 25 shows in North America with Lucinda. _________________ Travelling by train of thought

Great story RW, and a reminder, no matter how bad the gig, whoever is there is getting their impression of you from how you play. Dump the gig and that's what they'll think of you.
And you never know who it is that's sitting out there. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.
