We know what everyone around here likes in terms of MUSIC. But how about pre-Moe's dinner? Pizza? Chinese? Mexican? Burgers? The Seabright Brewery brewpub?
I'll check with some of my Santa Cruz sources to see if there'd be a good place for the BBS'ers to get together before heading over to Moe's Alley for the show.
Hope you're all getting your tickets reserved. _________________ - BlueRunner |

335clone: My thinking for a "Robben Ford BBS Nuts' Pre-Moe's Get-Together" is somewhere that isn't too expensive, is flexible enough to handle us if there are only three of us, or if it turns out there're 20 of us, won't take too long (so we're not in any danger of being late to Moe's) and isn't too far from Moe's.
Maybe others have some ideas? _________________ - BlueRunner |

Well my wife has specific ideas regarding dinner that night, so I doubt I'll be able to join you for the pre-show get together but if you make yourselves known at the show I'd love to chat with you all. As for your get together, there are plenty of places to choose from Since the show is at 9:30, you should have plenty of time to make the show.
So what do you have in mind? Steak, Thai, Sushi, veggie, Mex? I can link you up with the best places nearby. And speaking of nearby, Moe's is pretty much across the street from Dominican Hospital, just in case anyone has Waaay too much fun
Just ordered my tix. |

Is the Pismo Treaty of 1971 still in effect, whereby Nor and So Cal'rs are free to drink, surf, drink and blow shit up on the beach on the 4th of July in relative peace? |

Actually I liked the idea of the Seabright Brewery, except that non-locals might have fun finding it. Elizabeth had trouble finding Moe's and it's right off the freeway
And we'd definitely have to have reservations for that many folks.
335Clone, where are you? I was looking at some places in Aptos, up behide the village last weekend. Any neighborhood pointers would be much appreciated. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

There are some cool places up there for sure. 'Bout 5 miles from my place.

Definitely leaning toward the Seabright Brewery. As an out-of-towner who's been by there, maybe I can figure out foolproof driving directions for everyone, plus solder together some sort of homing device for Elizabeth. _________________ - BlueRunner |

Picked up a ticket last night and talked to Bill (Moe's owner) a bit. He said that Mark was on the gig. He also was pretty sure it would sell out so call and make sure you're on the list. 831-479-1854.
He's looking at sponsoring some events at larger venues in SC if he can get the sound and lighting up to his standards (he was LC's first road tech and knows his stuff). We can all definitely lobby to have Robben be one of these shows. He sold out two shows earlier this year on an off night with Robben. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

OK. Let's get serious. The Seaside Brewery will reserve some space for a big group (10 or more of us), but a staff member up there told me that even without a reservation the wait on a Saturday night won't be more than 30 minutes. And the bar has plenty of great beer while we're waiting.
So ... I'll be happy to (sort of) organize a Dutch dinner for all of us from the BBS who want to get together before the show. Say 6:00 at the Seabright? Post a reply and then we'll figure out how we'll all recognize each other when we show up there.
See you in Santa Cruz! _________________ - BlueRunner |

Hey Bluerunner,
Seaside or Seabright? I can be there at 6, and I already have a ticket purchased for Moe's. And my homing device...I can't find it (ha ha ha!) (A little brevity in the levity.)

I think that was Seabright. Every time I've been there, it's pretty busy. We should at least make reservations. We can always take over extra chairs. I'm happy to call it in. Who's really gonna be there? 7:00? _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

First, "on the bus" so far for dinner 9/25 at the Seabright Brewery: BlueRunner, Elizabeth and Aeolian.
Aeolian: I called the Brewery earlier this week. They don't take reservations unless you have a pretty good-sized group, say 10 or more. Maybe we'll have that many from this BBS. If not, I'm thinking 6:30 or even earlier so that we'll have plenty of time to eat and drink, and then head over to Moe's.
More news later on most of these same stations. _________________ - BlueRunner |
