Yeah just circlin' to say high now that I'm finale getting this techknow down. Noticed the gig in Sausalito on Sept. 4th and think I'm in one of the opening bands (Stardusters big band) anyway and thought it would be fun to see and hear Robben again. I remember the Santa Cruz days (the White Buffalo) and hung out in Santa Monica when Vince Denim was in the band. I have played with Red Beans N' Rice, Buddy Miles, Sons of Champlin and am still an active trumpet player in the Bay Area. I have taught a lot in Marin and am trying to keep the tradition alive. I also gig with Harold Jones, Sky Blue, and my own group occasionally. So what's up with Phil and the Phunk? Have just started the new scool year, finished a book of new tunes, and hope to play more and more music . . .
forever yours. Mo Lato, PhilWood

Cool Welcome aboard, Phil. One of the best things for us tyros and novices on this BBS is the number of great working musicians who check in. I do believe I remember you, either from the Sons, or from Buddy Miles (and the "Them Changes" days), as I seem to recall at the time thinking about the name similarity between you and alto sax player Phil Woods. Hope you enjoy hanging out here.
