I live in Chicago and have been following blues ever since I saw Luther Allison at ChicagoFest. I was 16. This was truly a religious experience for me which got me from playing AC/DC songs on my guitar to learning a Lonnie Brooks solo after seeing that concert.
The first time I heard Robben, I was sitting in the back seat of someone's car and "Help the Poor" came on. I got that emotional feeling I get from a few select players, such as Luther Allison. I picked up "Talk to Your Daughter" and played it all the time. I've been listening to Robben's music ever since.
The instructional books and videos are very helpful. I'm also working with the John Ganapes books.

Welcome Bleunotejax...you have come to the right place. Some of us have been fans of Robben's for...well, let's just say many, many years. Seeing him yesterday only validated that this man gets better, and better, and...you get the idea!
Be sure to bug your local CD purveyors to stock his newest (so new, it is not even officially out yet) "Keep On Running." I have been playing it since Saturday night, and I keep on loving it more.
