This was the sit-in Robben did at the Baked Potato which I mentioned on my website, Pierre. In fact, though it is hard to discern, that MAY be me sitting in the dark to Toshi's right in the upper right photo, where I had set up my work area next to the monitor man. And, though you can't see him, Alexander Dumble also came to the show that night and was sitting directly behind me.
As I speak of on my site, it was a 3 hour evening of instrumental Jazz jams, mostly in the style of Return To Forever. _________________ B C-ing U!

David,
Was Robben playing through his Dumble that night?
Yes, he used his full 2-12 rig that evening.
That is a sweet Les Paul Goldtop?
That is Robben's beloved '54 LP (maybe '56, but I don't think so). It is not a "Goldtop", but is actually completely gold. You can see more photos of it in the GEAR department of my website. You might have noticed that I am starting to revamp and fleshout that particular department. I will be trying to place photos and info of most, if not ALL, of Robben's gear as time goes by.
Robben loves that guitar, though we are limited as to what situations and how often it can be used. We very rarely take it on the road anymore... the last time being at the Filmore show in S.F. when Carlos Santana sat in with us. Robben DOES use it in the studio (in fact, almost exclusively on the recent Carl Burnette sessions I talk about on my site) and it can be heard in places on the new "Running" CD.
How often does Robben guest at Baked Potato?
As mentioned on my site, it was Robben's first time performing there in about 15 years.
Also, as Robben and I stood outside in back enjoying the air during a break, an independant movie producer approached Robben about a film she was working on highlighting the history of the Baked Potato and asked if Robben would consent to an interview because his association and appreciation of the Potato goes back so far.
Robben said "yes" and gave her a number to contact him at.
Who else has he done this with recently?
I only know of this show, his appearance on the Jimmie Kimmel show, his guesting at Long John Baldry's birthday party in Vancouver, BC, and his sit-ins with his brothers up north in recent days.
Does Robben know Michael Landau?
I'm not sure, truth be told, but I do believe I have heard Robben speak of him. _________________ B C-ing U!
