Okay hech, you win. I love it! When "Hard Day's Night" first came out, I recall pathetically attempting to get my parents to understand why we needed to be dropped off at the theatre when it opened, at noon, and picked up at one in the morning. When friends asked my why I went to Robben's first guitar clinic (haven't played guitar in 20 years,) or to see him seven nights in a row, my response was, "Well, because I want to, and because I can."

After living most of my life feeling responsible for everyone else's happiness, it is refreshing to take to the, "Carpe Diem" road. One of my goals for the past few years has been to learn how to live, "...in the moment," and not allow myself to make decisions predicated on fear and/or the approval of the entire planet. I think I have made progress. Some friends and I are trying to arrange a trip to London, in June, for Jeff Beck's 60th birthday bash. It may not rival Australia, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Looks like you found yourself a home at this board, newbie...welcome!

To be honest...when I first saw Robben live...I wanted to throw my guitar down my driveway....no shit....THEN.....I saw Larry Carlton live.....after that show I wanted to light my guitar THEN throw it down my driveway.
Somehow Robben's playing is more "within reach" ...I can still FAKE a Robben solo and people will know what I'm playing....NOT with a Carlton solo...SmileSmile)SmileSmile

Nope, I didn't drive. My son moved there, married a girl, and now has 2 babies! I sat by the babies every single minute!!! We stayed in Sydney and also had a beachfront cottage in Cairns for 2 weeks. I can't wait to get back there.............
