We had our election in Australia today.
We're still stuck with the same idiot
I voted for the other idiot, but to no avail.
I remembered to change my strings for tonight's gig though (sweated on them too much last night).

Bravo Lobster! What a great post. You are in rare form...good to see!
And StratCat, I am sorry, and I truly hope that doesn't happen here (and I hope our votes actually get counted this time.) Voting often means choosing the lesser of the two idiots. Well said, indeed.
I gotta go have some panic attacks...I actually agreed to sing at a gig tonight...WHAT WAS I THINKING? Then Tuesday, I'm off to the beach in Mexico, to play some serious hookey!
love,
elizabeth

WOW, that is an impressive setlist Lizzy!!! So, you did Black Velvet? Like that song..............If you come to Holland one day you definitively need to do a jam session with me an my band
But on this board we are used to more info concerning gig's. So when can we expect pictures and a discription of the band the venue and the food?
Not to forget your outfit and your shoes???!!
Have fun in Mexico, Lefty _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis |

Elizabeth,
How come you don't give us some notice so we can come a cheer you on? It's always more fun with more folks. I wanna watch _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Stateboro Blues is one of my all-time favorites. I love the lines:
I'm goin' to the country, baby do you wanna go?
But if you can't make it baby, your sister Lucille said she wanna go.
(and I sure will take her).
Oh yeah!

But I change the words...
If you can't make it baby, maybe Robben will want to go. OH YEAH!
Aeo, it is the first time I have performed in a year, and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go through with it. (The inverse of cheering me on is to have a crowd see me make a fool of myself, something that gives me nightmares.)
I'm so glad I did it, and even happier that for the first time in YEARS, I enjoyed it, especially when they wouldn't let us off the stage! I forgot how great it feels.
Walrus, I wore black tuxedo pants and a black sweater with a big cut out in the back, so you could see the tan I still have from the Sausalito and Russian River Blues Festivals. My hair is getting longer, so I had part of it pulled up. I wore very red lipstick, and people said I looked pretty good. Oh, black Donald Pliner shoes. It was with my little funky blues band..we call ourselves Smokehouse (great story about how we got the name.) It was for an Oktoberfest party in Fremont.
I love you guys...I wish I could perform with all of you...I would probably do it more often. The problem is that now that I have had a good experience, I need to do it more, but I probably won't, so the fear will creep back in. It's o.k. though, my students made me sing for them this morning.
One more day...the THE BEACH!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and lefty, I LOVE to sing Black Velvet, and I would be honored to jam with you and your band!
Love, elizabeth
P.S. Robben, Daved, Hilary, and Dewayne: Have a blast in Japan. I will drink a Marguerita to you; you can drink a sake to me. _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

Thanx, Liz.
I can guarantee that plenty of Sushi & Sushimi will be eaten (And it's always an extra special treat for me to enjoy some Sushi while riding the bullet train) and I'm sure that there will be times when the Saki will flow like water.
Enjoy your holiday down south! _________________ B C-ing U!

Sushi while riding the bullet train...how cool does that sound?
I plan to walk on the beach and spend some quality time with my children. My daughter and I are going to tour the tequila factory. The three of us plan to go snorkeling...I'm told the waters there are some of the clearest anywhere...AND THE WATER IS WARM...AHHHHHHHHH!
Ay ay, si si!
Besa mi mucho y todos...

Sounds like I'd need an "air-sickness" bag...
