Been having so much fun with this Deluxe Reverb that I rebuilt. Just makes me want to play (a good thing). Here's a Bb shuffle with the amp turned to about 4 and my 335. Just a bit of traditional blues breakup. In spite of my previous tirade against blues nazi's, I do enjoy this kind of music, just not exclusively.

Backing is me trying to play other things I have sitting around here.

Aeolian, I like this clip and I don't think it is blue naziish at all... just the opposite !

What would this clip sound like without the Deluxe Reverb ? I don't understand what quality of the sound be missing without this piece of gear.

Steve,

I totally dig this clip! You have some very colorful lines here that I might just have to borrow for a while (hope you don't mind). I'd like to hear it with the amp cranked for a little more punch, but I'm not complaining. I like what you did in the back track also - kind of reminds me of "Running Blues" by Rick Derringer with more of a shuffle feel.

Now take that stuff to the Blue Taliban and watch their heads turn (don't forget the bowling shirt).

JBP, thanks, if anything worthwhile fell out of me there, you're welcome to it. I should leave the sharp 5 melodic minor subs to you and Kirk and the folks who know what they're doing.

RW, Sorry, I forget that there are non-gearheads here. There actually isn't any reverb gadget involved. A Deluxe Reverb is a small Fender amplifier. The good Cap'n has posted a few recordings with his and Robben uses one on occasion. I bought a cheap one of an undesirable vintage and restored it to the configuration of the desireable vintages. While I love my Fuchs Overdrive Supreme for the ability to get the flavor of the fabled Dumble sounds, we all grew up listening to guitars played though Fender amplifiers. Playing through a good one just sounds right, and makes playing fun. Isn't that what it's supposed to be about. Wink
