Anybody had any idea what guitar Robben Ford was playing on Tommy Emmanuel's CD?

I can't remember the title of that CD, but it had Larry Carlton on it.

The album was "Can't Get Enough"... not sure on the guitar though. From memory I think there's a picture in the liner notes of RF with a 335 or similar (I might be getting confused with Larry though). Will check this out when I can dig up the CD but I can't find it at present.

Cool

Yeah, that's the album.

Both were playing 335s, but Robben had a diff tone. Sounded darker, whereas Carlton sounded more creamy.

I like both tones though.

But how do you get that tone that Ford gets?

The really scary thing with that album tone-wise is hearing Tommy and Chet play together. There's a very obvious influence there - hard to tell them apart - but it's beyond mere imitation - there's a genuine admiration there and you really get the feeling that the two of them were carved from the same stuff.

Cool
