Do a search on this, there was a thread awhile back on this song. Many people had different opinions on the altered Eb. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Also there's a transcription of that song in the book ' The Robben Ford Blues Guitar Collection'. ISBN 0-7935-4454-8 Pub by MCA and distributed by Hal Leonard, HL00690042
Have fun with it,

Hi Bluejack,
Does this transcription of Misdirected Blues include a faithful rendition of the two solos? _________________ "Creativeness often consists of merely turning up what is already there. Hey Nine,
Been awhile since i looked at that song but just did and yeah, it contains both solos, the one after the second verse and the outro solo. I'd say they did a fairly accurate job on the transcription, esp. the actual notes. As always in the tab there might be a few spots where you could finger it a little different. As an example, in the Nov. 1995 Guitar Player'Lick of the Month' there's an excerpt of the solo at 2:08 that offers a very slight alternative(just 3 notes out of 3 bars of 16ths) But if you dig that solo the book will be a huge help in unlocking some of those lines.
Hope you can check it out,
J |

Anybody know the names/functions of the actual chords played on the shift from the CM7? I've got the songbook, and the tab sure ain't F5/F6 to Eb5/Eb6. Gotta be some type of substitution/inversion deal. |

I could be wrong about this, but I interpret those 2 bars as:
Bar 1: F13 (stacked low to high as b7, M3, 13, 9) to F13 (M3, 13, 9, 5)
Bar 2: Eb9(b5) (stacked as M3, b7, 9, b5) to Eb9 (b7, M3, b7, 9)
(where I'm denoting a flat by the lowercase "b")
Now I'm completely winging it here, so one of the theory gurus can please correct my interpretation.

Oops, it occurred to me that the 2nd chord of the first bar is better regarded as an F6/9 since it contains no 7th. Right?
