I have always been a fan of Robben's guitar playing and I just started playing make that learning to play guitar a couple years ago at 60-who knew it could be so much fun? I was born in Detroit and used to listen to gospel music at night on the radio when I was a kid and listen to all the great bands that my parents played on the phonograph. I am an Excavator-I move dirt from point a to point b and live in the beautiful town of Bend, Oregon where I got to see Robben play last thursday, and this friday Sonny Landreth is going to play here-two great guitar players in a week in the small town of Bend. I think I smoked too much funn7y stuff-I be ramblin'

Cool Welcome aboard! As I recall, the beautiful Day-Shoots River flows through Bend. Or maybe it bends in Bend. Haven't been that way for nearly 30 years, but have fond memories of some trips to Sun River and parts around there.

Let me know if you happen to get into any trouble. Both the Deschutes County Public Defender and the recently-retired County Counsel were law school classmates. And somewhere around 55-or-something the latter took up some sort of instrument so that he could play in local orchestras. So you're in good company.

Burnie, never too late to start playing an instrument. There are quite a few "older" members here that are late starters, including myself. Believe me, you can and will learn alot from this site even if some of the stuff may be over your head. But, enjoy, and welcome!

Thanks for the welcome. I think I bore people to death sometimes talking about music, so it is nice to find a place where people like it as much as I do.

Jolene;
Welcome to this site and to Central Oregon. I always like to talk about or play music. Here is my email, which seems to be public knowledge so it matters not who gets it, wbfree@bendcable.com.
