The gear headed out to Georgia last week. Robben & I fly to Savannah on Wednesday for a weeks rehearsal at Gregg's house before actually beginning the tour.

Robben will be using his full Dumble rig, loaded with Eminence Tonkers.

We will also be using a new custom Wah pedal which the engineers at the Jim Dunlop factory in Benecia, California, have worked with me to develop.
Robben tried an old vintage Vox Crybaby of mine, which he loved. I took the pedal up north to Dunlop where Bob & Ollie lovingly dubbed it the "Holy Grail". Bob spent a couple weeks attempting to sonically duplicate it. We believe he's been succesful as Robben really liked our initial test of the finished sample that Bob sent me, so we will be bringing the 'clone', along with my Vox "Holy Grail", for further on-the-road testing.

Guitars we plan on using will be his gold '54 Les Paul and his Black Baker.

Thanks for the update Daved (and Happy New Year!).

I have a vintage Vox wha from the 70s (yes, with sought out red Fasel inductor!) and its great. 100% Hendrix vibe. Unfortunately, it picks up so much noise that, on Sundays, I can listen to the FM sports results on while playing! Very Happy

I have one of those old Italian Vox's from my high school days too. Unfortunately, I recently had to retire it from active duty as I never knew what kind of noises were going to come out when I stepped on it. But nothing else has that great waka-waka sound that the Vox's get. I replaced it with a chrome 535Q like Robben used to use, and now I can get "Cut Me To The Bone" tone's, but no "Shaft". Very Happy

So, Robben is sticking with the Tonker's for now? I hope they add some western dates so we get to hear some of this. There's nothing in this world like Robben having some freedom to jam.

I'm going to buzz down from Michigan to see/hear Robben in Toledo or Cleveland. I put Tonkers in by Bogner cabinet in November and they sound great. I'm really looking forward to hearing Robben's rig with the Tonkers--it's got to be HUGE!!
