I never really ever considered the possibility of someone hacking one of my boards. I guess I am totally naive.
We’re an extremely small music community focused on a small group of artists. We don’t harm anyone. We don’t criticize any other artists. We don’t make any judgments on what’s good or bad. We just celebrate the music of our artists and try to help each other learn about other artists, music, gear, tone and how to improve as players.
So why in the world would anyone want to hack one of our boards? It’s totally beyond reason to any reasonable human being. Unfortunately the Internet has been infected with lowest forms of human parasites that gain pleasure by inflicting pain on others. This is a tragedy for all of us but even more so for the Internet parasites themselves. Imagine having absolutely nothing of any value in your life and having to depend on inflicting pain on others as your only form of entertainment. It’s pretty sad! I feel sorry for you!
So were back, but, we lost about 1 month’s worth of data. My weekly backup files were corrupt, so I had to use a monthly backup. I have spent hours this week trying to extract some of that lost data from the hacked database. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. So we are back (data-wise) to 2/14/05.
We have completely redone our backup procedures so we now have daily, weekly and monthly backups. So if our parasite friends show up again, we will be able to restore the forum without too much trouble. We have also upgraded all Online Discussion Boards (an enormous amount of work BTW) to the latest version of PHPBB which is a lot harder to hack. Hopefully that will solve the parasite problem.
If you are a new member that joined this board after 2/14/05 you will have to re-register.
Sorry for the loss of data and the inconvenience!
And we’re back………….! _________________ www.hendersounds.com

Welcome back. Captain!
So the assimilation of the Ship has failed!
I agree, the Internet is a sick place, with even sicker lifeforms. I enjoyed reading your statement:
Quote: "We’re an extremely small music community focused on a small group of artists. We don’t harm anyone. We don’t criticize any other artists. We don’t make any judgments on what’s good or bad. We just celebrate the music of our artists and try to help each other learn about other artists, music, gear, tone and how to improve as players."
We believe in a nicer world, apperently.
But for now:
Resistance is not futile!!

Well at last this site has been hacked. That was fun. Phreaking & Hacking,
prehistory of the Cyber World.
Intresting that "our" "your" Hackers signed Ingwie & Vaî (the never ending
battle between Rock & Jazz, Schredders and Mumblers, Yellow & Blue, fill in the blanks for whatever confrontation you wish) but way more intresting is the link they left : Tsunami in Sri Lanka. An opportunitie to think about something maybe ???
Well , when i see advertisements on discussion boards , it's hacking yet.
3 months ago i was wandering the web and heard about a forum about tone
ruined by a guy who create another one just like that (popping fingers)...
That is absolute hijacking.

Uhhh Calm down , they forced you to work on your weakness. Don't be so sure Not to be a BlueMeanie . Life is not that simple , i am sure you know this : the Good (on my right) the bad (on my left)................. |

Missing the Forum for a week gave me the time thinking about the meaning of it. It's the only Forum that I visit daily. I'm glad it's back. Thanks Captain for all your efforts to keep this Forum up.

This gets my vote as mission statement of the year.
I also missed my daily visits in here. Heck, I was getting ready to finally post my clinic review...
Now, to move forward!

I'm a newbie. Looks like you folks have a cool thing here. I got hip to Robben with the Handful of Blues CD. Now I'm trying to figure out what the "must have" Robben CDs are.
I really love the Allman Bros. and was happy to hear that Gregg and Robben hooked up. Are the MP3s still available?
Robben has tone and technique that we mere mortals dream about.. What are the best resources for more gear and biographical info?
Thanks!!!

Dave, Yer a good'un! I work in IT (for my sins) and I can well imagine what you have had to do to get the board back up and running. We live in a sick world that is degenerating rapidly and irremediably. With regard to the cyber-vandals that the Internet is attracting in increasing numbers and the possible effects on the Internet itself, I read this article just the other day. It seems quite appropriate: http://www.cio.com/archive/031505/security.html _________________ "Creativeness often consists of merely turning up what is already there. I Agree, nice to be back, amazing how you miss something when its not there anymore - even if 'you' are not the most prolific poster!
Good effort
Cheers
