Terrific news, Elizabeth!!! I'm definitely going to be there, and bringing a bunch of my friends to catch Robben. I'll stop by and say hello, I assume I can catch you at any of the shows? |

Aeolian,
Chick, Frank and Dave will be great for sure. They are planning on making a live DVD from their gigs at Yoshi's so if you see them in Santa Cruz ( a few days before ) I'm certain they will be in top form. Of all the shows I have seen in the last year this was the one that impressed me the most. Have a great time. |

And he was smokin! Tyler Eng, Gary Heinman and Tony Stead on keys. Chris was fighting with keeping his guitar in tune all night but it didn't seem to bum him out. At one point he was trading fours with Tony and they got kind of wild. For folks who think Chris just plays BB licks, you ought to hear him trading with a jazzer. Someday, Chris and Robben, letting loose, all those altered runs played with that great blues feel that only they can do. They both have deep admiration for Mike Bloomfield (and Chris for Robben himself) but they take it in different directions. It would be awesome to hear them getting to those roots and sharing their musical takes on 'em without all the "show" aspect of the "tribute" band. Just a solid rhythm section like last night and two ace guitarists exchanging musical views. A man can dream can't he? _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Sounds like it was fabulous. I had long-standing (bought them a year ago) tickets for another venue. Chris is downright amazing, isn't he? _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

Too bad they butchered Robben's name. At least they're consistant. I'm trying to find out who he'll be playing with. Anybody out there know? One might think we'd get this stuff from Robben's website. |

If you haven't been, this is a nice, mid-size blues festival and a 2nd chance to see the Butterfield/Bloomfield tributes. With Elvin, no less. |
Our gang from Sacramento/Folsom will be at Sonora and Yoshi's...already have vacation approved for both weeks. _________________ I'll be spending way too much time here... |
