Hi, yes i got this one from a huge music store in Toulouse area (south west ). Listed price was 599, i bargained down to 500 with a handful of plectrums and a supercheap softcase. But the guy with me was a VERY good customer of this store , thinking back i should have negiociate a better price ...
Now 2 days ago while lurking on the net : A german on line store sell it for 450 shipping included............. go figure . Are these comin straight out the factory for 100 ??????????? And i am talking euros .
300 Dollars ??????????????
Now i can tell you Pierre this guitar " elle a tout d'une grande ".
Best neck i ever played , feels like a classical guitar.

Frank i know you stated that you were not in hurry to change the pup's since they sounded good. I feel the same i am nosy to hear a different sound while i feel these pup's are really well fitting to the guitar.So What are you gonna do next ?

Funniest : The first time i saw the name Pierre L in a Robben Ford Forum (ahhhggggg sweet memories, those were the beloved times of Red Rooster) i sent him a PM like "do we know each other "

Blob, I think that for a while, I'm just going to play this guitar and enjoy it. I haven't really got anything in mind for it. I was going to switch the strings to 11's like on all my other guitars, but I think I'll wait to do anything until I have played it and learned it a little better.

I bought one for $399 at Musician's Superstore on Friday, and gigged with it Friday and Saturday nights. It is a well-made guitar, finished in the beautiful "antique sunburst" colors. I know I should post a pic, but it looks just like the one on page 1 of this thread!
Playability is great, the neck is Gibson-esque, i.e. pretty thick and "D" shaped, with high rounded frets. Overall build quality impressed me, especially considering the great price, I am especially pleased with the pick-ups - volume levels between the three settings are uniform, and I can't complain about the tone, although being a Strat man for years I am new to these humbuckers, so take my opinion with a grain or two. The only complaint so far is that the switch is cheaply made.
Buy one, I think it was a steal for $400.

I think these humbuckers sound good like if they were designed for this guitar. We are far from the average "Gibson" Pups you can find in a Epiphone 335 for example.
And yes this switch is cheap . And the jack socket starts to unscrew....
Am i doomed ??????????

This is a design feature.
For example, say you're at a blues jam, and a certain guitar player's solo is becoming boringly long-winded.
You simply poke the guy in the kidney area with your Esprit headstock, using a bayonet-like motion...if that doesn't work, you can attack his speaker cabinet...

ok - good point (!).
I suppose I can also use it when (say) the singers decide to talk through other people's solos. 
Or for that guy who requested Stairway to Heaven last week.
Or for anyone that decides that my new Nexo subwoofer looks like a handy place to put their drink.

My boy got his first guitar, a Squier Stratocaster from Santa this year.
Had to return/exchange it because when the jack socket cup was installed
on of the screws completely missed the body......mass production I guess. The kid was bummed at first but we traded up and he loves his guitar now! |
