Two nights ago I went with high hopes to the Robben Ford concert in Fredericia here in Denmark. The place was small but full, maybe a bit to full in my opinion. The where a great atmosphere, filled with intimacy, cosyness and musicality. Robben started of with chevrolet. It where clear that he felt good and it seem like there was a dialectic confidence between us (the spectators) and the band (especially Robben). It seemed like the more cosy Robben felt, the more jazzy he got. I have never seen him so jazzy (except on the Tigerwalk tour) Very Happy Very Happy
B. Malach turned out better this year. Last year I think he was a tiny bit too jazzy for the basic blues like chevrolet etc. But he where great this time. Toss Panos where smokin' !! That boy got rythm. The way he handles the hi-hat - just unbelievable Shocked
Dewayne where also in a good mood and convinced us all thet he's a mean mother..... on the bass.
I do not have the correct setlist but this is some of the tunes:
Chevrolet – Baker
Indianola – Baker
Cannonball Shuffle – Baker
The Way That You Treated Me – Baker
Moon child
Over My Head – Baker
Let me in (extra)
Help the Poor – Baker
It Don’t Make Sense – Tele
Lovin’ Cup – Tele
Badge (my applause for the courage to play that tune with only one guitar and no keyboards)
I had a small chat with Dale and Daved after the concert. They are just two great guys!! So thank you for your time. I did not get the chance to thank Daved for his return to the board, so here it is: Thank you.
So to all you other Robben freaks in Europe: go see him, it is a blast of dimensions.
Enjoy

I forgot to tell you guys the important stuff.
After the show I had a talk with robben. He came out to sign albums etc. I asked him about a Jing Chi tour in Europe. It seemed like that's a no go. I asked Robbenthe same question last year and back then he where far more optimistic. I would especially love to see Robben with Vinnie Colaiuta. I saw Vinnie with Landau and the guys from Karizma a few years back and he just blows you mind.
Anyone with me on this??

I stopped in at Cafe Hahn when we parked the bus there today. Tho small and production unfriendly, we had always enjoyed playing there. Major renovations at that venue! Lots more room, a real "theatre" stage. Wow! What changes! Should be a very interesting show tommorrow. See you there!
