It looks as though we may be getting a small write up in Rolling Stone! We are pretty happy about that as I guess it is rare for an indie blues project to get attention. In essence we just did this to enjoy playing music and make something we thought was beautiful. I guess good things come with simple intentions.
Again, I am really grateful for all the emails and Cd sales from here.

John, congrats on the write up! I have the CD in my iPod now and was listening this morning on my way to work. Every once in a while I'll find a CD that makes me want to jump up, grab my guitar and start playing. This is one of those CD's. It makes me wish I was up on a stage instead of riding a train to the office. Thanks.

Thanks Bill. There is nothing anyone can say that is higher praise then the idea that somehow something we played inspires them to play. I have no idea if that was a grammatically correct sentance, but you get the idea! lol

Hey everyone! I am getting a lot of questions about gear and tone so I thought i would post my equipment page link:

The main mic I use for guitars is the Royer R121 Ribbon mic. It is just fantastic!

too bad I eventually gave up smoking last year and gave away my humidor with all the Cohibas left, but this should not be so much of a problem buying fine cigars over here, but only few women for sale and none of them beautiful |

Wow! It's been almost exactly one year since this topic's been last active. Just wondering what's up with the ZBQ. I'm hoping for a response like, "what a coincidence, we're going to be releasing our 2nd album in a couple of weeks, then tour the US starting with Boston!" |

we are working on the next album and all touring both as Zen blues and with respective projects. Steve is out with tom Petty this summer and Jeff is out with Steely Dan, so look for them and shout Zen Blues!!! at the stage! ;)
I played in Ny recently with valerie carter on our way to play the Blue Note in Japan. next time I am on the east coast i will post!
