I think I will cancel my Amazon UK order and wait for an online shop to sell the European version without any doubt...because I don't think we will see it released in France before some time now... |

Hey,
I was just wondering about all this hype about the 12 tracks on the CD and the difficulty of getting a copy of Robbens new CD.
I live in a small town outside of Milan called Monza (famous for F1 racing, but the US folk won't know much about that...). It has around 100K inhabitants and we have a all-in-on music-store-bookshop. It even has a musical instrument section with cheap Ibanez and Fender Squire models. The kinda' family thing. I had a cold and I went to see my doctor so, on the way back stopped by into the store to warm up.
I stopped by the "Blues" section and I found 10 copies of Robbens new CD with 12 (twelve) tracks. I felt like a right ass for ordering mine over internet and receiving thos puny 11 (eleven) tracks....
Well there you go...Hurray for small Monza and all of it's Robben fans!

You do not give Americans enough credit...not only do we know about F-1 racing, but the Corvair Monza was, in fact, named for your town, I believe. (A classic design, to boot.) There are many of us who admire European architecture, car design, education, attitude, art, and way of life. Why do you think we all try so hard to go there on vacation??? _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

I have asked this of so many...what is it that makes the percussive sound in Badge? In the chorus, right after the line, "Don't you know (right here) that the..." It sounds like it is electronic, and many tell me they do not even hear it on their copies. My son says it is a synth. noise, but I would love to know for sure. (What a hassle to have radar hearing, huh???)

Hey Elizabeth
The "synth" sound is in my humble opinion the echo of Siedah Garrett's backing vocal.

I don't think it is made by a voice. Maybe I am the only one who hears it..maybe it's not there, but it isn't there TWICE on my copy! It is an almost arpeggio like sound and has the quality of being made on something hollow. So now I am hearing things, too?? I am so over my head, but that's how I like it!
Hey Marin, if you make an offer for Robben's tele, you could throw me in as part of the deal. I know it is a sacrifice (ha ha,) but it would be for the good of the cause! And he can't do his homework anymore, so perhaps I could help. _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |

May be this sound is made by a weird afro percussion like the one u can see on daved site ( robben's pic playing in da studio) with EQ and reverb or whatvever, just let roll your mind. But don't go with this Tele: Too heavy, need a chiropractor. |

I've listened to that section over and over(pretty loud, as well) and there's nothing there unusual. The line is "don't you know how the wheel goes 'round", and there is a slight bit of syncopation at the word "how" with the background vocals and Robben's singing, but I'm thinking you've got a different version of the tune. Yours is the import release, right? |

Yes you can criticize, speculate on strategy, all you want! This CD isn't as good as that CD or Robben is trying for a broader audience....blah blah........
I am just thankful that he keeps touring and putting out new CDs ! There are so few artists that are the real deal these days, we must appreciate, support and encourage the very few we have!!! The current Music Industry structure/ status quo certainly does not!
