|
|
I'd love to buy tickets but I have no idea when Robben will be in the San Francisco Bay area soon. I need a gift idea by the middle of July, and anything Robben Ford would have a huge WOW factor!!!
Does anyone know of a site to buy Robben Ford merchandise? Are there any special events comming up that Robben would be a part of?
Help! |

July 7th to the 10th - several shows in Jack London Square. It's a great place to hear Robben play. |

MeMe,
If you've never seen Robben before this is an excellent venue to do so. Robben loves the almost annual extended-engagements he does there. It's a great room and Robben is always so at ease there that you will usually get some fabulous performances and Robben is almost always readily accessable to his fans after the shows.
Unfortunately for me, as I, too, love working that stage with Robben, I will not be able to be at those shows this year as I will have to leave Robben's west coast tour after the shows in Seattle to pick back up with Allman Brothers for the next leg of their tour in the northeast. (Robben tried to schedule the Yoshi's dates so I could be there but, alas, try as one may, some things just don't work out. )
Jeff Rivera, Robben's last tech of many years, will be covering the bases for me while I'm temporarily away. _________________ B C-ing U!

Wow! I sure wish that guitar on e-bay was in my budget! My boyfriend would kill to have that. I would certainly win some brownie points with that one!
I think I'll try to buy tickets at Yoshi's for Friday or Saturday night. I've never been there. Can anyone tell me a little about the atmosphere?
Daved, your photo looks like the Grand Canal in Venice? I was there last year. Great place!
Thanks for the reply.

Sorry for the diversion, but...
Daved, who will be taking over your tech role for Robben after you're gone? _________________ Soul on Eleven |

Yoshi's is in Jack London's Square in Oakland. It's really a great place in side. Come early ... as it's first come first serve in terms of seating. They issue you a table reservation clip and then you reserve your own table by clipping it to the chair.
You then have approx. 2 hours to explore the square ... they have many restaurants nearby ... Scott's Seaford, Italian places, Ribs, etc. Yoshi's has a restaurant as well ... see their website.
I think you will find the warf/square type atmosphere quite pleasant, but I would suggest that you stay in that area and do not wander too many blocks away.
With that said, the club inside is great and a fantastic place to see and hear Robben. The sound is always good. And you can get very close to the stage, if you wait in line. In general, any seat is a great one.
The best to you! |
