Rumor has it that the new pedalboard currently being put together for Robben will have a Dumkudo overdrive pedal. Anybody heard one of these?

I haven't heard one yet, but the website says it is optimized for single coils. At today's rates it would run about $400 including shipping from Japan.

Damn, those pedals have an abalone layer on top, that's intense...definitely something you couldn't do in the US!

Hi Bill,

good to hear from you again.

I personally dont know much about this pedal, but "The Gear Page" has a few reference threads including these two;

http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showpost.php?p=6799495&postcount=11

Hope this helps.

How did you find out about the new pedal board? Please keep us posted of any more info, as it would be intersting to know what gear takes Robben's fancy now adays.

Cheers,

DD

I'd like to try, but that's definitely too pricey for me.

Also there's a very restrictive return policy. There's no "This pedal's just not for me" return.
What I've got now is working for me - I think I'll just hang on to it.

If you like, you can email me at pauldehorn@comcast.net and I'll send you a photo of Robben's pedal board from the recent Yoshi's shows (Jan. 20th). It was quite different from what I've seen in the past. No rack gear - definite Landau influence. He's using two T.C. Electronics Hall of Fame pedals in place of the T.C rack. He also had an OCD that he used sparingly and mostly just used the footswitch for his Dumble to get more overdrive.

Cheers,

- Paul

Vertex Effect System is working on new pedalboard for Robben.
Mason recommended Dumkudo and Robben loved it.
He is ordering another one for back up.
BTW Larry is using Zenkudo now, lower gain version of Dumkudo.

Ha, ha, ha!
Now everybody will start to sell their Zendrives and start to by Dumkudo.
I guess Robben never tried the Ethos pedal.

Bluesman, your favorite among those pedals would be the Ethos (I have only owned the Zendrive myself, along with a Jetter Gain Stage Red) ?

Sorry for slightly changing a primary topic (Dumkudo – which looks and sounds great) but...,
Yes, I like Ethos. It’s an universal Dumble sounding pedal which works great straight to the amp, power amp, PA or PC. Has great clean channel and after my modification it has a Flexiboost option (regulated gain increase without tone change) – only moded Ethos in the world so far.

Here is a demo

Here are some “boutique” pedal demos:

Orgasmic Double Drive

Barber Tone Pump

Barber Burn Unit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaOHS2tvdt0&feature=related

Three channel (my modification) Route 66
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1BqFXk779Y

All this pedals sound fantastic through a good clean amp.

Cheers
