Good pair of shows Friday night, the people I brought really enjoyed the show and bought a couple cd's. My buddy had the foresight to bring the backplate off his strat and Robben graciously signed it for him.

The highlight for me was the encore, "Supernatural", off the 1st set. Robben's wah work was fabulous and the song sounded powerful and fresh. I thought that Robben might have been playing through the black Dumble off the side of the stage for the first set. He kept wandering over to that side when he was soloing. Robben played a gold LP with humbuckers and his trusty 60's tele. The tele was especially juicy sounding, if my tele sounded that good I wouldn't play anything else. Of course, if I played as well as Robben maybe it would sound that good!!! Smile

The second show featured both the guitars from the first set, as well as a P90 equipped Goldtop. Robben seemed very animated and full of energy during both shows, moving around quite a bit and playing with more fire and speed than the last couple times I had seen him. His lead work during "Running Cup" on the second show was breathtakingly good. The band was terrific and tighter than when I saw this combo last year. I want to especially single out Gary Novak, I really dig his playing with Robben. Many might feel he has too much of a "rock" feel for Robben but I think he complements him perfectly.

Great shows guys!

What songs?

Top Of The Hill, Minor Flirtation, Miller's Blues, Good Thing (a song he rarely plays without Roscoe), have been showing up in these sets.

Daved, thanks for the inside view of the shows. I would love to hear Good Thing live; maybe it will be on the setlist for Portland? Looking forward to the show, whatever is played. Very Happy
