Haven't heard much from Robben lately and was just informed yesterday by Dal, his manager, that after repeated assurances that Robben was glad I was going to be there with him, Robben has now changed his mind and decided he wants to take a different tech to Europe with him in October/November, so it looks like he has decided to phase me out.
Looks like the "Daved Zone" will eventually get a new name.
Oh well. it was an enjoyable 8+ year run with him.
Life goes on....

I'll simply say that sucks...I'd looked forward to actually meeting you and sharing memories about Captain Sacto, etc...Last night at the Crest there was alot of "hand signaling" to the guys on the board, etc. There were problems during the sound check though I don't know the specifics... Larry's Dumble was acting up and replaced...I looked forward to seeing you there as much as the players. Hang in there. To say the music business is strange and fickle would be a gross understatement. Do stay in touch. You have a lot of admirers here and you know your stuff. _________________ I'll be spending way too much time here...

I thought Larry was traveling with his tech. I read elsewhere that there was some channel switching problem on his amp.
It would be the Truth support tour where Daved's help is most needed. Robben has a lot more on his mind, leading the band, always being the front person, new tunes, etc. And that's where having someone on the sidelines on the same wavelength and prepared for anything comes in.
I still remember the "tuning" incident at Kumbwa and Robben telling everyone he had his confidence in Daved as he strapped back on his guitar. That came from years of working together and knowing that when Daved told him it was a go, it was a go. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.
