Should I take a non-working Hammond B3?
Go for it as long as it's in good condition.

Don't bother. It's probably junk and not worth fixing.

Shocked OMG!! Blasphemy!! Shocked

Crying or Very sad I'm truly saddened today that such a great American musical icon, the wonderfully expressive and soulful Hammond B3 Organ, is being shunned in such a backhanded manner. Is nothing sacred any more?

Don't let Bill Boublitz or "Smitty" Smith hear such talk.

SAVE THE B3!

Here's another thought. You could rewire the entire keyboard partly as a huge midi controller, build in a guitar interface, a small fridge, some wheels, a camp bed, a portable toilet, a StratNav location system (finds bars with blues bands), some chintz curtains, a small but intimate bar area, a surround system, a barbecue, a global communications device, some of those crappy porcelain ornaments that old ladies keep, a signed photo of Robben, a little nodding dog, a rain canopy, an airbag, a fire extinguisher, a CB radio, a three-tone horn, power steering.............you're getting the idea, right?

It appears my question in another thread about a particular organic quiche ingrediant is answered, and BilliMobs has already eaten... Laughing

It's more kinda Methedrin vibe , but more seriously i think Billy Mob has the first symptomas of a post RobbenFord gig. Humor , Love of Life, Youth fuel in his blood, eyes wide open just like his avatar and an incredible amount of brain work : the proof being this STRATNAV.Wow

Johnny Z,

I voted to not bother. I've seen working B3's on craiglist in the Bay Area and my take is to wait for one to come around.

Having said that, there is nothing like playing with a B3 player. The weekend before last I played a gig with a B3 on one side and another keyboard on the other. I thought I had died and gone to heaven, well at least to church, such a gospel vibe. We played the old Animals nugget (ha! what's that?) "Don't Bring Me Down". I have been playing that song for years but never with a keyboard let along two! I didn't want it to stop.

I just got an email earlier today from one of Robben's B-3 players Bill Boublitz, and he says, quote:

"Yes, all B-3's should be saved!" Twisted Evil Very Happy Cool Laughing Razz Wink
