Graeme - try www.tesco.com. You can get CDs from there for just over £13 (VAT and shipping incl) and they have a very good selection of Robben's music.

However, I have to say that I am sick and tired of rip-off Britain. The prices you guys pay in dollars over in the US for guitars, PCs, etc. we pay about the same figure in pounds over here. Not so long ago the BBC's Online News service did a survey comparing the prices of about seven or eight similar articles bought both in the USA and the UK. The Brits ended up paying around £200 pounds more. Add a lousy climate, and is it any wonder we're all a bit wierd over here ...

Erm ... well ... I was in Louisiana last year and sampled American beer and - yes, I have to agree with you. And to add insult to injury - my wife and I were in Shreveport on a very hot Sunday and after leaving a very nice Chinese restaurant, I was decidedly parched and needed some liquid refreshment - only to be told that since it was Sunday (and this is Louisiana) you can't buy beer. Whaaaaatttt????!!!!

Thank you for reminding me about English beer - I feel better now. There you go - this board is THERAPEUTIC!!!!!

Yes, I was aware that in the Southern States there would be problems with such "necessary refreshments". Still, it didn't spoil the enjoyment of our trip to the US - we got to see the Mississippi (at Vicksburg) and the plantations along the Cane River south of Natchitoches. Thouroughly enjoyed it!

By the way, I was told that in the States you can't brew beer with an alcohol content greater than 3% Is that true???

Thanks for that reassuring information! So I guess it must have been the Louisiana alcohol laws to blame for the bad beer. What would appear to confirm this is the fact that we had to go to a small "booze shack" outside the town limits (Homer, La) just to buy a bottle of wine ... I'm very glad to hear that you guys are not ALL deprived of a decent beer!!! Laughing

Hey , the road from north cal to oregon to Washington is paved with a lot of micro breweries doing a LOT of fine beers as good as English and belgian ones .Except the fact they're not done by monks, some are quite strong in degrees...............

I think you might plan kind of pilgrimage starting from Ford Bros Concert in Cal then go way up to seattle and find the holy graal of the new "old schooled" beers.

What happens if the publication is out of print?

Can you post your own transcriptions of Robben's work.

I don't know if there's any legal issue with it but if you take the time to transcribe it and don't try to profit from it, I don't see any problem with it.

If you want to post your own stuff, I say go for it. I'd love to see what you've got!
