A while ago this was a topic here with some short clips to listen to. I purchased this CD based and that and it having a Robben track. It's turned out to be money well spent and I'm enjoying this CD immensely. Particularly the playing of Frank Gambale ( I'll be seeing him with Chick Corea in a few weeks ) and Greg Howe. From the 2 tracks on this CD, Greg seems like quite a player to me. He has a little more of a rock flavor to his playing and even sounds a little like Eddie Van Halen at times. Can anyone tell me more about this artist ?

I listened to the clips when this was first mentioned on the board and was less than enthusiastic. Sounded very "busy" to say the least (I think "wank fest" was the term I used). I was impressed by the Greg Howe clip, too, though. From what I heard his clip sounded the most original and unique compared to the rest. But I have to admit this is not my cup o' tea so I am not the most reliable critic. Doesn't stop me from sharing my opinions, of course!

I'm definitely interested in that CD as well.A lot of people have been dissing it as tasteless wanking over Coltrane standards but from what I've heard so far as samples I thought it was great. In other words I'll be getting it soon.
