I've been a member here for about a month and an introduction is long overdue.
Started playing the guitar in 1974 at the age 21 and soon after learned of the Charles Ford Band from a co-worker who was from Northern California. He graciously loaned me his vinyl copy for a couple of weeks and it was my first encounter with Robben's music. A few years later a copy of Robben's Inside Story came my way. Drifted away from playing music in the mid 80's for about 15 years then started pursuing the guitar again casually in 2000. Still think my playing was better in 1982 than it is now. My interest in blues guitar playing is more accepted now than it was 1980.
My #1 rig for playing jazzy/blues/rock is:
Hamer Daytona > Barber LTD > TIM > EQ pedal > Boss RV2 > DRZ Carmen Ghia. It's not unusual for a FD2 and Bad Bob boost to take the place of the LTD and Tim -- I switch pedals around frequently. I don't gig, but do jam with others on a regular basis.
View playing as air sculpture = art that evaporates into air. Something that takes daily practice for a lifetime of reward.
Play on,
