One of my favorite blues festivals of the year -- the Fort Lauderdale Sound Advice Blues Festival -- is coming up October 31 - November 2 and I thought some of you might be interested in it too. This year's festival has a great lineup, which can be seen at: http://ci.fort-lauderdale.fl.us/festivals/blues_festival03/schedule.htm

The festival site is wonderful! It has four stages -- the main stage is under a semi-permanent structure with open sides, about the size of a football field. So if it rains (but it never does in Florida :-) ), you won't get soaked. The City Link stage, also features main acts and has an alternating schedule with the main stage, so there is continuous music.

Just look at the schedule!! There's too many performers to list here !

Aside from the great music schedule, the Blues Corner stage will feature talks by Dick Waterman, Art Tipaldi and Elvin Bishop. There is also the intimate Back Woods acoustic stage that has its own schedule of performers, but sometimes becomes an acoustic jam session featuring main stage performers.

This festival is "family friendly" and has a kids' zone (tent), staffed by volunteers, with kids' music, crafts and loads of other fun activities.

The site also includes a Blues Coffee House (tent) featuring local acoustic players and a Sports Tent (with 4 big screen TVs) for all those folks who take their football as seriously as their Blues (... y'all know who you are Wink ).

Accommodations are plentiful and travel into Ft. Lauderdale International Airport is cheap and easy. Did i forget to mention how nice the beach is ???

See y'all there! Very Happy
