Totally off topic but had to share this with you.
On Saturday night here in Phoenix Alice presented his 4th annual Christmas Pudding charity. Great event!. The opening was a carillon.
If you don't know what this is, neither did I. Basically a portable bell tower from a cathedral. Simply amazing, the act is called "Cast in Bronze". Scared the heck out of 3 year old grandson.

Wow, I've never seen or heard of a portable one of those. I have some clasical recordings where they used one in a church or something. The player has to pound on the keys hard enough to strike the bells.
But what is that outfit? And the headgear? Gives a new meaning to the Goth stuff that Alice got folks into. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Well reading over the materials he has on the website is appears that the "threads" are part of the mystique of the instrument. The instrument and outfit dates back to late medevil times from the Dutch (or Flemish as the case may be) speaking section of what is now Belgium (Flanders).
Actually if you look at the mask on his website it is of a dove.
I would add, if he is ever in your area it is definately worth taking a look and listen.
My wife already told me that I could not build one in the backyard...... maybe with some 6L6's or EL34.....
