It was a blue Christmas, but I channeled it into something productive. A friend gave me a CD with a song called "Cuttin In" on it which sort of reminded me of running into an old girlfriend the other night and watching her dance with other fellas. To make it a blues, you have to have add a broken heart, so a little artistic license over the theme of the ubiquitous lost love, and here we go. I've always admired how Robben can make a song sound personal, and like he's been there, whether he has or not. I mean there probably wasn't a Bonnie, but every touring guy has heard such a story, so it rings true.

Unforntunately, I'm a horrible singer, so think of it as a Randy Newman demo Smile

The Cuttin In song was loosely based on a 6-2-5 and the old GF was into oldies so that was the inspiration for the form. Yes, I lifed the intro from Scott Henderson's "I hate you", a little musical joke, and I love the comps he does in that song. Tele through the Deluxe for that and though the Fuchs for the clean solos, 335 for the OD solo (the Tele was too thin and I didn't want to take the Henderson 'angry' thing too far Wink ) The rest of the track is me limping along on things I shouldn't be playing. Actually did a few punch in's to keep it from being too sloppy.

Cheers,
