Haven't posted for a while, but was doing some recording last night for a cd that one of the bands I play with is making - did a solo which randomly came off quite robben-ish. Was quite pleased by it! hope you like it!

Thanks guys! glad you liked it - it's the bridge pickup of my 2002 Les Paul standard, through a tube screamer, into a Laney LC30R which I put an EVM-12L speaker into. Nothing fancy really, nice simple gear with a bog standard SM57 in front of it. It makes a nice recording amp but gets a bit lost against a drummer when you're gigging it!

Thanks again for the kudos, very kind of you Smile

Cheers, Jules

I don't usually comment on clips, but this one I really liked! Where might one obtain more recorded examples of your playing?

Hey thanks Bill! Had a look at your site, pheww that's a nice collection of axes! I thought I was indulging myself with 4 ;-) I've got a hankering for a 335 as well after playing a '61 (PAFs yeeehaaa) in excellent condition at a jam session here in London quite recently. Yet to find a modern (ie affordable) one that I actually like though. That '61 was perfect in every way! Anyway I digress, if you have a look at http://www.slidejules.com there's a few other soundclips from various things I've been involved with. That clip I just posted is from an album I'm working on with a band called The John O'Leary Band - I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of next month and then we'll tout it around for a record deal, there are a couple of labels apparently interested. John O'Leary was the harmonica player and founding member (along with Kim Simmonds) of Savoy Brown. He left a couple of months before they really "hit the big time" because they wouldn't let his girlfriend (later to be his wife) on the tour bus!

I play in another band called Roadhouse which has a CD available here. To be honest I think John's CD will be more up your street when it's finished - Roadhouse is more Allmany/Skynyrdy kinda southern rock.

Hope that was enough (not too much!) information!

Thanks for the interest :-)

Jules

Nice playing.

That little Laney is really a nice amp for its $$.

I like the amber burst Paul as well. Smile

Hello Jules,
Another Blues Matters victim (I'm one of them to Sad ).
Nice playing mate, lovely tone. Gibson is good but I just love Patrick's guitars. Shame he's gone to US and I'm missing good friend and great guitar builder.
Good luck in Colne.
