Hello, I'm a newbie from Germany. I'm a fan of Robben's music since I heard the 'Talk To Your Daughter' album in 1990. When I heard the first notes I was shure that this is the way a perfectly played blues guitar should sound...
and I still feel the same any time I hear him play in a concert or on a record.
Normally I don't hang out in discussion forums but this forum seems to be different so I decided to join |

Welcome to the forum! I discovered Robben as a result of Talk to your Daughter, also. I hope you enjoy your time here. There is a lot to see and great people to get to know.

I was the same way, at first. I swore off internet forums for years because of all the fighting and the jerks. This place is much, much different. Great people, great music, great information, and just a great place to hang out...
Welcome, and enjoy!

Welcome aboard! My awareness of Robben went back a long ways (I actually saw him with Charlie Musselwhite in 1969), but have to confess, there's something about "Talk To Your Daughter." When I-Tunes first went on line, the title song was the first song I bought and downloaded. _________________ - BlueRunner |

...wow, 1969
For a student in Germany in 1990 knowing Musselwhite or the Yellowjackets was not the normal thing. The firtst time I read Robbens name was in a german guitar magazine in 1988 or 1989. But I think the "Talk To Your Daughter" album made him really famous in the german guitar scene because most people here never heard someone playing the blues like this before. After that time it was much easier to find older albums in the stores too.
That's why I discovered some older allbums after 1990.
But there is still a lot to discover |
