Ok - the intro - I am a self taught guitar player of nine years and I've played bass in local bands for much of my life. I play mostly in my studio because my family and career obligations keep me busy. I play about an hour a day.

I've been to one clinic that Robben did here in Denver at the release of Tiger Walk. Which, BTW, is my favorite work by Robben.

Recently sat down to play and didn't warm up. Went after some chords with huge stretches. Now the middle finger and ring finger on my left hand hurt like crazy. Stiff, too. It's from the knuckle thru the first digits. Any suggestions on resources to learn about remedies?

Thanks.

If it's huge stretches and you are not a pro forget about it unless you do stretching exercices several hours a day (which might look funny to your surrounding).
Give your hands a break for a week or two and then start again without ambition. I had the same problem when trying Joe Pass chords. Thus endeth my Virtuoso carreer. Magnesium (2x300 mg a day) helps a lot ( try get some pure capsules like by PURE ENCAPSULATIONS or THORNE RESEARCH in USA). Ever seen Robben Ford on huge stretchings? Question Exclamation
