Hi guys,

I try not to post clips on Robbens forum, but I am psyched about the tone I am getting with the Eminence Tonespotter. This is supposedly a 1265 clone. Upon listening back to the clips, especially the first one, I was struck by the rich smoothness. The slightly dark tone was my settings. I will record some brighter ones this weekend.

Here are the clips. Once again, I apologize for clip posting, but speaker selection for that smooth tone that many of us go for is a hot topic in these parts! The clips were done quickly this morning before work. I did not even tune the axe. I bet if I drink my coffee first, things would turn out better Embarassed

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/eminence/100printsNoLoop047MC47FB1.MP3 Really rich and chewy.

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/eminence/100printsNoLoop047MC47FB2.MP3 A little brigther and less mids.

The gear was Fuchs SLX100 and Bob Burt V-Twin cab with the Emmys in it. Baker RF on Wolfetone bridge pup.

Good stuff, Scott. As far as I am concerned, you can post clips anytime! I like the tone you got. The only problem is, now I want those speakers, too.

Those speakers sound great! I have a Fuchs ODS 100 as well, Andy is making me a Triple as we speak, and I also use a Cornford that i love and a really great Victoria head called a Sovereign. I spent a lot of time listeting to speakers and cabs and arrived here:

I use the eminence legend 121's in a Victoria 2x12 tweed cab. Very Very smooth and also aggressive when necessary.
More aggressive tone i use the eminence Legend V12 in a Bogner oversized 2x12 closed back cab. For other colors Mark baier at Victoria made me a great 1x15 and a 1x12. He is an amazing amp and cab maker.

The tone hunt is unenending, but so much fun when you find something that works! Keep posting those beautiful clips!

Best regards

Thanks John! I made these two yesterday. A little more open than the first two.

Are you going to upgrade your ODS to SLX?

Those alos sound great! Not too much high end transients and a lot of clarity. What mic are you using?

My Fuchs is a later model, almost new, which I believe after #300, they are all SLX. Actually i am selling my ODS as Andy is making a Triple for me for touring. So if you know anyone who wants an amazing sounding Fuchs let me know.

Best

Great music John! I loved the calypso and Victoria Fusion the most of the short samples. Of course the live Twin was killer too. Classic great tone! Nice popping articulation on it.

Both acoustic pieces were spectacular! Loved them both, a lot!!!!

Thanks for posting!
